Tervetuloa! Welcome to KissaMoon
KissaMoon began with two things close to Kendra’s heart: her Finnish heritage and her love of discovering unique products and treats.
Founded through Ontario’s Summer Company program, KissaMoon was created to bring Finnish-inspired candy, snacks, gifts, and treasures to the Haliburton Highlands. Growing up with Finnish family roots, Kendra was introduced to traditions, foods, and stories that connected her to Finland. She wanted to create a place where others could experience a little of that culture too.
Whether you’re looking for a nostalgic favourite, searching for a unique gift, or simply curious about Finnish culture, KissaMoon welcomes you to explore something new.
What Does “KissaMoon” Mean?
The name KissaMoon (Kee-sah Moon) combines two things that inspired the business.
“Kissa” means “cat” in Finnish, a nod to Kendra’s Finnish heritage and her love of cats.
The word “Moon” reflects curiosity, imagination, and the spirit of exploration that inspired the creation of the shop.
Together, the name represents a place where people can discover something unique, unexpected, and memorable.
Our Mission
At KissaMoon, our goal is simple:
To share a little piece of Finland through products that bring joy, spark curiosity, and create connections.
We believe that discovering another culture can be as simple as tasting a new candy, finding a meaningful gift, or learning about a tradition you’ve never encountered before.
Proudly Local
KissaMoon is proud to be a Haliburton-based small business and part of Ontario’s Summer Company program, which supports young entrepreneurs as they launch and grow their own businesses.
By shopping at KissaMoon, you’re not only discovering Finnish-inspired products—you’re also supporting a local student entrepreneur and helping a young business grow.
